Located in downtown Corpus Christi is a gem for everyone to consider - the Water Street Oyster Bar.
During my very first trip to Corpus Christi, everyone recommended this spot but told me that is has a reputation for being really busy. Luckily, our son made reservations. We decided to start with Blood orange margaritas and two appetizers (oysters, shrimp). Not kidding - when we were done, we ordered two more...of everything. Although this spot was very busy, the food and service were not slow considering a bustling full house. The aroma and taste of fresh seafood enjoyable.
I highly recommend that you book your spot in advance; it saves on the waiting for no reason. Luckily, on our second visit, we were staying at the Best Western across the street. Also, it's a short walk to the beautiful shoreline, great view after a great meal.
Then, on business trips, we were able to go to Water Street twice. Both times were great experiences, yet again! It's a pretty restaurant and near downtown. I got a special once and the surf and turf another time. I was very pleasantly surprised with the ribeye and the stuffed shrimp were delicious. We had a oyster appetizer as well, I wish I could recall the name but it was delicious and I'm normally not a big oyster fan. We got these under the advice of our server.
As a former culinary catering chef, I rarely have an all around amazing experience. My chicken Rockefeller was so good and the service was even better. During my most recent visit, Ravae, the server, was very professional and on top of her service game. A delight!
There's not much of a wine list, which we were looking for, but the margaritas were very good and we were satisfied with the switch. Overall, outstanding!
