Okay, Gryos. Phenomenal things - a true delight of Greek tastiness! If you don't know what a gyro is, it's a meal made of meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie in a manner similar to Doner kebab, then sliced and served wrapped or stuffed in pita bread, along with other ingredients such as tomato, onion, fried potatoes, and tzatziki.
Located on West William Cannon Drive, this food truck just the best when hunger strikes. The plates/dinners are amazing, the falafel is crisp, fries are made to perfection, and the wraps is wrapped with very well seasoned chicken. The hummus is delicious (does not contain garlic but it will bring you explosions in your mouth). The servings themselves are more than enough food with great portions and for a great price. The gyro in the mixed plate is well seasoned and has tender meat. The side salad was also a treat.
My original experience: I tried SBK for the first time one night and I was so excited that I couldn't wait to the leftovers the next morning. When I first arrived (during my original experience), there were several people waiting for food when we pulled up, which is a really good sign, right?! You'll find convenient parking in the Texaco lot, by the way. My first order consisted of the 'Mixed Shawarma Plate' with a side order of 'Falafel Arabi.' My meal was perfectly cooked to order, the meat was juicy and tender, the veggies were crisp and fresh, the hummus was smooth and flavorful, the rice was perfectly seasoned. The portion sizes and plentiful and the menu has lots of options. How about that for a review of the first sampling of the menu? I was amazed at how everything was beautifully seasoned and the service was quick and friendly. We had the gyro plate, mixed plate, Falafel, and Dolma - all gluten free and we were very impressed. So, I knew I would be returning.

During my second visit, I ordered and enjoyed the 'Chicken Shwarma Dinner.' And once again, everything was amazingly good, especially the chicken itself (even though I say I prefer chicken kabob (shish tawook) to shwarma, this chicken shwarma has crossed the road-- the road to greatness!). Once again, during the second meal, everything else was wonderful-- the rice; the salad that's surprising delicious; the hummus (with pita bread); and the tzatziki sauce. I said to myself - 'Two for Two!'
Then....the final visit (recently) was - the Gyro Wrap and their signature Hummus. Oh, wow. Hummus was great and enough to share. Gyro wrap was excellent and the tzatziki has a great dill flavor. After the third visit, my co-workers repeatedly return based on my recommendation and get lunches and dinners for the office. My own manager has been back several times for the gyros and (every time) they comment that it was authentic, delicious and every loves the fact that the dressing on the salad was really good came with pita bread and humus. My recommendation on the gyros - whenever you order the gyros with the mixed plate because they are well seasoned and has tender meat. It's always fantastic.

As they say in Syria, delicioso! Okay, I don't know what they say in Syria, but this food is fantastic for certain.
It's the yellow food truck next to the convenience store that says "bread basket". Go soon! You won't be sorry if you love Mediterranean food like I do.
