There's a wonderful spot for big appetites that sits along the banks of the beautiful Nueces River, in Riviera, Texas. It's named King's Inn. This spot is a delightful dining experience that seamlessly blends Southern hospitality with delicious seafood cuisine. During my recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and mouthwatering dishes. The moment I stepped inside King's Inn, I was greeted by a cozy and rustic interior. The décor evoked a classic Texan charm with wooden furnishings, fishing memorabilia, and vintage photographs that transported me back in time. The restaurant's location along the river provided a tranquil backdrop, and the outdoor seating allowed diners to enjoy the picturesque view.

The staff at King's Inn exuded warmth and hospitality. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered excellent recommendations. The service was prompt and efficient, ensuring a smooth dining experience. Now, onto the highlight of the visit—the food. King's Inn is renowned for its seafood, and it did not disappoint. I started with the shrimp cocktail, which was served with a zesty cocktail sauce and was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The menu offers a variety of seafood options, and I opted for the grilled redfish, which was cooked to perfection, flaky, and accompanied by a delectable garlic butter sauce. The side of garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables complemented the dish wonderfully. The portions were generous, making it great value for the price. Although seafood takes the center stage at King's Inn, they also offer options for land lovers, including steaks and chicken dishes. The menu caters to a variety of tastes and preferences.

A visit to King's Inn is incomplete without trying their signature dessert, the "La King." This decadent combination of vanilla ice cream, homemade pecan pie, and hot fudge was a delightful way to end the meal. While King's Inn is not the most budget-friendly option in the area, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience make it worth the price. It's a fantastic choice for a special occasion or a memorable evening out. To me, this restaurant is the gold standard for fried Gulf Coast seafood and trimmings. Everything they serve is memorable, but the Waldorf Salad and onion rings are indescribably delicious and borderline addictive. This establishment runs like a well tuned machine but has the feeling of a family reunion; very welcoming !

King's Inn Restaurant in Riviera, Texas, exceeded my expectations in terms of both food and atmosphere. If you're looking for a charming, riverside dining experience with exceptional seafood and top-notch service, King's Inn is a must-visit destination. Just be sure to make a reservation, as this hidden gem can get quite busy, and rightfully so. Upon looking at the storefront, you would never know that a fancy, high-class seafood restaurant awaits you. It's a little on the pricey side, so maybe wait and treat yourself to a meal on payday. It's definitely worth the chunk of change - there's no menu, it's a HUGE set meal that gets delivered to your table. Hush puppies, shrimp, drum, catfish, oysters, fries, onion rings, guacamole salad, avocado salad, and a tartar sauce that's to die for. You may leave with an empty wallet, but your belly will be full and satisfied.
