My best friend and I were driving by and this spot caught our attention, so we decided to call. F rom that phone call, our arrival and overall visit, we received amazing world-class service. Let me tell you - the food was excellent! The Brussel sprouts, the steak, the mac n' cheese, green beans, and ooohhh that bread pudding! Yummo! The place was so welcoming and VERY clean. The decor was fun to look and explore.

Our waiter (Rocco) was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu options...he suggested the bread pudding, and it was so good!

Now, about the cornbread. It accompanies several dishes on their menu - Whiskey BBQ Ribs, Venison Chili and much more. The kitchen bases their cornbread to golden perfection, boasting a warm, inviting aroma that fills the air with hints of toasted cornmeal. Each bite offers a delightful balance of richness from the butter and buttermilk, a subtle sweetness from a touch of sugar or honey, and a satisfying depth from the cornmeal itself. The exterior is crisp and golden brown, providing a delightful contrast to the tender interior. Whether enjoyed warm straight from the oven or paired with savory dishes like chili, barbecue, or fried chicken, delicious cornbread embodies comfort and tradition, leaving a lingering taste of home with every bite.

My friend and I split the chicken fried steak with green beans, Mac n cheese and cornbread. The cornbread is possibly the best cornbread I've had as it's almost a cake and although my friend isn't really a big cornbread person, she ordered another side of it for her husband back home. Yes, it was that good. Finished the night off with the Route 66 pecan pie which is amazing on the cinnamon roll crust.

So, if you find yourself cruising around Irving, Texas, do yourself a solid and drop into The Ranch at Las Colinas. Grab the grilled catfish with shrimp and ride that flavor wave all the way to the shore. Captain 619, signing off. Catch you on the West side!
