I discovered this wonderful spot thanks to my daughter, who insisted we stop by during our trip through Amarillo. We arrived just after they opened, gave our name at the hostess desk, and reviewed the impressive menu while waiting to be seated. Once seated, we took about 15 minutes to re-review the menu and place our order.

My husband ordered the Hell Burger, featuring hot sauce and an abundance of peppers, while I opted for a grilled chicken sandwich. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic, and the shoestring fries were equally good. My husband especially appreciated the peppers on his burger, feeling like he was getting his daily vegetable allotment.

About three months later, during another road trip, we decided to stop for dinner. We wanted something off the interstate, but not fast food, and Coyote Bluff Cafe came to mind. Initially unsure when we pulled into the parking lot, my husband changed his mind upon seeing the variety of cars, pick-up trucks, and license plates from both locals and out-of-staters. The divey look, fun decor, nice staff, and large portions of delicious burgers and cheesy fries were just as we remembered.

Our burgers were perfect once again, and the service was excellent. The building itself, rustic and charming, felt like a step back in time. We’re planning another visit in November, and it will definitely be a stop on our journey. Given the amazing hamburgers, we may even try the steak next time, as it looked fantastic on a neighboring customer’s plate.
