Incredible Crepes at Ze Crepes in Austin!

Located in the lobby of one of Austin's historic buildings, Ze Crêpes welcomes visitors with good music and tempting smells. And this spot is truly one-of-a-kind.

My first experience with 'Ze' was on my first day at my new job downtown. I had snagged a new occupation and needed to find a spot to eat. Turns out that the company I work for threw a nice breakfast for all the new hires and gave us each a ticket to get a crepe and a coffee. That was my first experience with Ze Crepes. The first thing I noticed is that everyone was allowed to custom-order something from the menu and each order came out in record time. It was so fast (from ordering to receiving) that it was truly something impressive that we all started chatting about. Now, regarding the taste, I can attest from my very first bite through the crepe that it was SO GOOD that I ordered two more - one sweet and one savory. After eating the first crepe (complimentary of my new employer), my taste buds were over-joyed and constantly crave more. When I left my first day at work, I purchased TWO MORE and brought them home for my family to sample. It was THAT good.

And just to be sure I'm not focusing on the crepes alone, I can't downplay their coffee either. A few days after my first day on the job, I stopped by Z Crepes and ordered a vanilla latte during the boil notice week in February and Ze was using bottled water to create handcrafted coffee masterpieces. That Starbucks place across the street was closed, but Ze powered through it by kicking it old school and made the best tasting latte I've ever had! How's that for thinking for the customer? That's how you do it. When Starbucks says - we can't trust the water so we are closed, Ze said - "The customers come first, we will use bottled water to ensure everyone is happy."

Now - about the ambiance of the spot : the atmosphere is truly amazing! It is so art deco and the food they provide is the perfect compliment to the efforts - both inside and out! It was a great late night spot for a bite to eat. If you live in Austin, you'll find that it's super close to just about everything. Consider ordering their most delicious crepes and friendly service at a reasonable price! Since I've started working downtown again, I've eaten here about four times a week (seriously) and have enjoyed it every time. When it's lunch time, my common go-to is the California Club, which comes with turkey, avocado, arugula, and super crispy bacon. The Turkey Pesto is also very good. Everything from this spot is a win-win-win.

Now, if you're a fan of pesto, and you enjoy an amazing lunch, consider ordering the Turkey pesto savory crepe. It is beyond delicious! It reminds me of crepes in Paris and in small coastal towns in CA. It's made with skill and love, the ingredients are very high quality and the recipe is perfection! I also ordered a kids Nutella crepe and finished both plates completely clean! If you want genuine food that is not processed or made in conveyer belt/corporate kitchens, food and ingredients that taste the way it should be and brings joy with each bite, don't miss going here!

This place is an absolute gem!!! Historic, gorgeous, unexpected... the service is amazing and the food is exceptional.
