If you're not familiar with Pearland, Texas, it's a vibrant and growing community located just south of Houston, Texas. And when it comes to fantastic Tex-Mex, there's one place that everyone visits for an amazing meal - Gringo's. We've been to Gringos so many times that it would be hard to count the number of visits. Originally, I was born in Nevada. And Tex Mex is a must for me since nothing like this food exists in Reno, Nevada where I was born.
In case you live in Houston, but under a rock, Gringos in Pearland is a Tex-Mex restaurant that has been a local favorite for many years, and after a recent visit, it's clear to see why. Situated in the heart of Pearland, Texas, Gringos offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you in the mood for some delicious Tex-Mex cuisine.
During the last visit, we arrived early for a dinner with my good friend. Our server was very attentive and understanding that we were early and just wanted to enjoy the experience that Gringo's offers. The Queso Loco w/chicharrones was an amazing choice for an appetizer. We don't eat that much anymore and the serving was so large we were able to share it with our dinner companions when they arrived. The Cadillac Margaritas were wonderful after a full day of travel from Reno. We enjoyed the chicken enchiladas and the sauces they provide with their chips. The service was impeccable. The restaurant's interior is festively decorated with vibrant colors and Mexican-inspired artwork, creating a lively and inviting ambiance. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or even on a date night, Gringos provides a comfortable setting that enhances the overall dining experience.
If you line in/around the Houston area and you don't love Gringo's, that's suspicious. Ha Ha. Truly, Gringo's place is amazing and the food is just as great. Whenever I visit, I go for the best menu items imaginable. My favorites are the Tortilla Soup & the Pollo Marisco!!! I love how the Pollo Marisco is such a complete dish with the chicken, shrimp and cheesy sauce/cream they drizzle over the shrimp and chicken. It comes with rice and your choice of beans (we always get charro). The Pollo Marisco always comes out great, extremely tasty and I usually eat half and save the rest for later or split with my mom.
Now, about the service. The service at Gringos is friendly and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations. Drinks were refilled promptly, and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The staff's hospitality added to the positive dining experience.

It's a must-try for any avocado lover. For those looking for a more health-conscious option, the menu includes several lighter choices and even vegetarian and vegan selections. This versatility makes Gringos an excellent destination for a variety of dietary preferences.
