If you're ever in Galveston and would enjoy a cute spot for a great coffee, The Sugar Bean is your best place to go!
It's located on the corner of Evia Street, a perfect little spot for this shop. It's truly an ideal spot - cute, poignant and perfect for the neighborhood. Worthy of a portrait.
Sugar Bean is located in an adorable, picturesque part of town, this little coffee shop is the best thing to do when you need a great cup of coffee and a dessert. Sometimes, you'll see students studying inside while others are reading a good book or just chatting with friends and family while enjoying a great day. Anytime I've been there, the people and the ambiance adds to the charm that locals and tourists alike learn to adore.
I find the frappes are great, as are the lattes and the smoothies. Whenever I am there, on the weekends, the young gal behind the counter is so sweet and attentive. She's even happy to make a little joke or two while preparing your order.

As the photo shows above, the decor is so cute inside and out - homey and relaxing. I loved that they have outdoor seating as well. My favorite part is that they have a small toy (Melissa and Dougs ice cream toys) that children can play with while you wait for your drinks and goodies. As a parent, I really appreciated that they have that feature for the kids. It's something so small, but it shows great attention to detail.
The next time I visited Sugar Bean, I decided to order a smoothie. Very good! Delicious!
Every time I go back, I find it to be such a cute coffee shop. I wish we had gone while it wasn't quite as busy just so we could have had more time to look around without disrupting everyone else's personal space. The pastry options looked super good I was just too full to try them. I also wish I had gotten a shirt because they were so cute!
With that said the coffee is phenomenal. A nice even medium roast, and a good amount of sweetener without being to over bearing. They use good quality syrups that don't leave a chemically or artificial after taste. I got the white chocolate mocha and added toffee nut flavor to it as well, I recommend this combo. I wish I had asked more about the flavorings, they had rose and lavender as well as pistachio!!
The last time I paid this spot a visit, they seemed to either remodel or re-paint and it made the atmosphere (both inside and out) even more peaceful and quaint. Yet again, the coffee was delicious, servers were kind and friendly, and the versatility of the space is abundant! I enjoyed the outdoor seating this time (gazebo) and my kids enjoyed the porch swing over-looking the man-made lake. Just when summer heat struck, the AC was wonderful. Additionally, the bathrooms are always clean as well.
As you can tell, I have zero complaints about this place and it is one of my go to favorites for business or pleasure...or both at the same time!

This is definitely a place we visit anytime we come to Galveston. They have a punch card that I forget every time we come too, but it's nice that they have it!
Great neighborhood spot for light snacks and drinks of all kinds! Great friendly service! Give them a try during your next visit to Galveston!
