I'm not going to lie. Whenever I find myself in Arlington, Texas, I never imagined looking into a fine dining. No disrespect to Arlington at all. I just just associate the city with amazing Tex Mex. But this year, I found myself booking 2 seats at an amazing restaurant named Restaurant506 for my wife's 40th birthday...and it was well worth it.
Restaurant506 is nestled within the historic Thornton Inn in Arlington, Texas, offers a unique blend of contemporary American cuisine in an elegant setting. The restaurant has garnered a reputation for its refined dishes, impeccable service, and cozy ambiance.

The moment you step into Restaurant506, you're greeted with an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and inviting. The historic building, with its classic architecture and tasteful decor, sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The interior features a mix of vintage charm and modern elegance, with warm lighting and comfortable seating arrangements. Whether you're there for a romantic dinner, a business lunch, or a special celebration, the ambiance makes you feel at home while adding a touch of luxury.

Service at Restaurant506 is exemplary. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. From the moment you're seated, the waitstaff ensures that all your needs are met promptly. They are well-versed in the menu and wine list, offering insightful recommendations and pairing suggestions. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality enhance the overall dining experience.

The menu at Restaurant506 showcases contemporary American cuisine with a creative twist. The chef's dedication to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients is evident in every dish. Here's a closer look at some of the standout offerings:
Appetizers: The appetizers set the tone for a delightful meal. The Crab Cakes, served with a tangy remoulade and microgreens, are a must-try. The Seared Scallops, paired with a sweet corn puree and bacon jam, offer a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
Entrees: The main courses at Restaurant506 are where the chef's creativity truly shines. The Pan-Seared Duck Breast, accompanied by a cherry gastrique and root vegetable medley, is cooked to perfection. The Herb-Crusted Lamb Rack, with a mint-infused demi-glace and truffle mashed potatoes, is another standout dish that highlights the chef's expertise in flavor pairing.
Desserts: Desserts at Restaurant506 are the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The Chocolate Soufflé, with its rich, velvety texture, is a chocoholic's dream. The Lemon Tart, with a buttery crust and a tangy lemon filling, is light and refreshing.

After my dinner experience here, I returned, about 3 months later, for brunch, ordering the Pecan Crab Benedict which was easily a win for me. It was very unique for brunch but incredibly yummy. The short rib omelet was also very good but very filling (if you're counting your protein this is a good choice). The third course we ordered was the Creole Biscuits and Gravy which was beyond yummy. My wife and I loved it all...and for brunch! Then, celebrating my sister-in-law's graduation from nursing school, we dined here again. Once again, everything we ordered was not just delicious but creative (for dinner, consider the browned butter scallops and tres leches cheesecake, for example). The wine list was short but well-rounded, and the traditional bread basket was anything but traditional (think crostini crossed with French bread). The veal scallopini was divine, and the chicken melted in your mouth. Absolutely save room for dessert, hand-prepared by a pastry chef. The ambience is classic but not stuffy, and the service staff was delightfully friendly and professional.

And now for those who adore a wonderful wine - the wine list at Restaurant506 is extensive, featuring a well-curated selection of wines from around the world. The sommelier is adept at helping diners choose the perfect wine to complement their meal. In addition to wines, the restaurant offers a variety of craft cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Dining at Restaurant506 is more than just a meal; it's an experience. The combination of exquisite food, top-notch service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a standout dining destination in Arlington, Texas. Whether you're a local resident or visiting the area, Restaurant506 is a place worth experiencing.
Since my first experience at Restaurant506 in Arlington, Texas, I've returned four times. This spot provides an exceptional dining experience that seamlessly blends contemporary American cuisine with historic charm. From the warm ambiance and attentive service to the beautifully crafted dishes, every aspect of the restaurant reflects a commitment to excellence. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a great meal, Restaurant506 is a culinary gem that delivers on all fronts. Again - it's the last thing I expected in this city and I am so happy that I found it. I will definitely return.
