Abilene, Texas, nestled in the heart of the Lone Star State, exudes a blend of Southern charm and Texan resilience. As the seat of Taylor County, Abilene boasts a rich history intertwined with its role as a frontier town and a hub for ranching and agriculture. Its vibrant cultural scene is marked by institutions like the Grace Museum and the National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature, celebrating both local heritage and artistic innovation. The city's warm hospitality is evident in its welcoming community spirit, showcased through events like the West Texas Fair & Rodeo and the Western Heritage Classic. With a backdrop of wide-open spaces and endless skies, Abilene embraces visitors with its genuine hospitality and timeless Texan allure.

And there are some restaurants that are highlighted in the city that highlight the best of the best. And when it comes to Thai Cuisine - there is one spot I recommend - Krua Thai.

Krua Thai is a quaint, friendly restaurant off of seventh street. We ordered food for pickup a few times and the wait has always been short, and the staff really kind! The food is absolutely delicious. I learned about this place when someone said to me - "This place offers a Pad Thai is wonderful and their flavors are really spot on. Definitely our new go-to place for rainy day pick-up. " So, I had to give it a shot. And I loved it.

The great thing about Krua Thai is that it is single-handedly responsible for one of the peaks of my culinary life. The lemon chicken was utterly saintly, with the delicate flavors lying within dancing across my tongue. The crispiness was absolutely perfect, and the spice was absolutely tantalizing to my tastebuds, to my astonishment. The sesame chicken was heavenly as well, as the sweet and spicy contrast hung in perfect balance. The rice was exquisite, with a perfect consistency and moisture that could bring a tear to a grown man's eye. One of the most amazing takeout meals I have ever had the pleasure of consuming, would recommend to anyone.

A few things to know: (1) The flavors are so perfectly placed into each dish. I fancy the Thai basil chicken. It has half pieces of cloves of garlic and so many other yummy flavors that all swirl together to make the perfect flavor and texture. (2) Their spring rolls are addictive and so good. I could just eat 40 on accident. They are really the best I have ever had in my life. (3) Don't let the location or small interior scare you. Supporting this local biz owner is so easy because everything here is so delicious.

Before I wrote this blog, I came with my family and we split three entrees that all contrasted, but went well together - the Pad Kee Mow, Mussamun Curry, and Sweet & Sour Chicken. What. A. Treat! The food had a lot of flavor and the portions were huge. The prices are good too, so I was definitely pleased. They don't mess around here; they know what they're doing.

Everything I ordered was the perfect spice for me as someone who enjoys a tiny kick. When you are finished, you pay at the front and they do not take any type of tap payments. I will definitely be back every time I pass through Abilene! Although I'll likely take it to go next time! Even in the middle of central Texas, I think everyone would enjoy eating here, even if they are timid or picky eaters.

Pay Krua Thai a visit when you're in Abilene!
