Best Pizza in Corpus Christi: Grimaldi's

Not that long ago, I had never heard of Grimaldi's. If you would have mentioned the name, I thought it might have been a mechanic's garage. A year ago, I had never been here before, but I heard a few great things and I wanted to see what the 'kudo's' were all about.

The moment I walked into the restaurant, I really appreciated the vibe. Truly beautiful, especially the tone and color of the interior and the correlated lighting. Really well done. Someone clearly put some through t into this place. Honestly, I had driven past the front door may times and never gave it a thought. If I had received some many good reviews from friends and co-workers, I would have never went inside...but from the first moment I walked in and absorbed the ambiance, I was instantly impressed.

We decided to share the opinion of our first experience of Grimaldi's with a few co-workers who already had a solid experience with the menu and we are so glad that we did. All together, we ordered everything possible. Cost was not a concern, we just 'went for it.' Our waitress, Marci, was a sweet lady and so we're the food runners that came out to our table to help deliver the pizzas. Great service - attentive and working hard to make us happy. It was greatly appreciated.

The bruschetta trio was very good. The 'Don Pizza' was amazing. We also had a Mediterranean salad which was solid and paired well with the pizza. Towards the end of the meal we all sampled their phenomenal cheesecake. Wow! Over and over again, we were all nodding our heads in approval and moaning with happiness. At one point, manager/owner looked at us and I gave him a thumbs up. He smiled and went right back to work.

I've been seeking a place with great pizza and a cozy family friendly environment inside (with a bar attached outside) and we have found it.

Not much after that (maybe two weeks later), we came to Grimaldi's again around 6pm on the Valentine's Day and we received a welcoming greeting from the hostess, a great dessert (again) with awesome customer service. It was Valentine's Day and we didn't even have reservations but we were seated with 9 minutes. I didn't have any pizza this time, but I definitely made room for the cheesecake. Again...Phenomenal!!

I loved the smell of the wood burning stove. You could see your meals being prepared in the back portion of the dinning area.

Also - the bathrooms were clean and atmosphere was very family Friendly. We didn't have kids with us, but plenty of various families were seated inside with them.

Let me just sum it up for you - The service was excellent, pizza was excellent and they're being extra cautious during corona. They're still practicing social distancing when it comes to table spacing but of course, masks are not required. The waiters and waitresses were just great and I'll will definitely be going back! The pizza is a must here! Consider the 'Don Pizza' - out of this world! So consistently amazing! No matter how often I visit this location, I am impressed.

In fact, I recently had my birthday dinner here tonight and was so happy I did. I absolutely love Grimaldi's and this particular location in Corpus Christi is my favorite.
