At the end of the week, I love to wind down. Depending on where I am, I enjoy a good wine bar. And when I'm in College Station on business, I'm in luck. Because there's a good chance that I'm coming to Primrose Path Wine Bar for a great night of drinks and amazing food.
I and a good wine bar requires a good crowd. It's always a good sign when a place is practically filled on Monday evening. The Hilton hotel (where I stay when I'm on business) is located on on University Street, which is just a half-block's walk away.
Now - when it comes to the food - the gnocchi w/ smoked pork belly is amazing and the perfect portion for my hunger pains. When I'm done with my meal, I walk back to my hotel feeling happy and filled rather than bogged-down with too much food.
The folks who run the bar (Grace and Erica) are polished, happy, welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about all the menu and wine offerings. The bar has a comprehensive wine and cocktail list. Approximately a dozen beers on tap.
Decor - professional, clean and trendy without being exuding snobiiness. I would be more than happily to bring a client to the bar to discuss business or a great way to break the ice when starting a new contract. It's ideal for young professionals, too.
As you can tell, I absolutely love this place. They provide delicious food, great ambiance, friendly staff, and wonderful drinks. I normally get about 4 plates to share with friends. Also, during my last visit, I sampled the black truffle steak and the mushroom arancinotto. Stupdendous.
Many of my clients claim that this is also a great place to celebrate graduations, birthdays, and anniversaries. Was not expecting the tapas to be so good. Loved the ambience inside and the wine wall in the back. Ordered the Calamari Fritto Misto and White Truffled Mushroom flatbread. Both were so good! Very fresh and the flavors were so unique. The batter that the calamari was fried in was really tasty and not dry. Loved the truffle oil that was used on the flatbread. Everyone says - "It was my first time there and I loved it. I can't wait to try their other dishes. Also got the eternal odyssey drink, it was so light and refreshing!"

One of my friends said - "When it comes to the environment itself - gorgeous venue, brick walls, huge crystal chandelier, charming layout, and best of all, a crazy inviting menu that makes you want to order everything. Add in great bartenders and servers and you've got a winner." I would totally agree.
During my most recent visit, the service was so far above and beyond that it was hard to believe. There was so much business that it was truly amazing to see how hard everyone works to keep you happy. Two folks named Faith and Brandon made our experience top notch, between their knowledge of the menu and their expert drink making it was truly a wonderful experience. The food was far beyond anything we expected and had such an amazing dining experience. I highly recommend Primrose, if you don't want to sit at the bar make sure you get a reservation because they are usually booked (and rightfully so!).
