Amazing Cupcakes in Dallas: Soon Ja's

I'll tell you how I learned of this spot. I needed a custom cake for my daughter's 5th birthday and I placed a question on Facebook, asking for recommendations. I am not kidding - 15 out of 20 people recommended SoonJa's. But, I had never heard of it. So, I called them. The first thing they asked - "What is the theme of your party?" GOOD QUESTION. From that one question, we sat down and talked it over. We decided to have a pool party and requested a Hawaiian theme cake. I gave photos of what I wanted and it turned out absolutely amazing and even better then I requested!

Then, about two months later, my next door neighbor needed a great cake for their son's birthday! They had no idea what type of cake they wanted. So, we made another call to SoonJa's. Two days later, we brought them a picture of how we wanted it to look or say and they did JUST THAT! They went above and beyond for his birthday! When I tell you their son loved his birthday cake, he LOVED it and he was just as surprised! I couldn't be happier with the outcome and my neighbors were overjoyed. Just seeing him full of joy over a cake was the cutest! Not only did it look great, but it tasted really good!! It was a confetti cake flavor and it was super moist!

Then, about 6 month's later, I asked Soonja's"s Bakery to create a 2 tiered cake for the first baptism of one of our grand children. We discussed different options, I made my selections and we scheduled a pick up time. The pick up needed to be Sunday morning and he offered to come in on his day off to provide that service! The cake was beautiful, just what I had imagined. And it tasted delicious!

So then I decided to give their cupcakes a try. OUT OF THE PARK amazing!

Probably the best cupcakes I ever had in my life, but that's my preference.

I've tried pretty much every flavor, and my absolute favorites are the dark chocolate and strawberry. The strawberry has real pieces of strawberry mixed into the cake with no artificial dyes! It's so pretty. They used to have a chocolate on vanilla flavor but took it out and now have old fashioned birthday cake, which is a yellow cake with milk chocolate frosting and sprinkles, but it's not the same. Still good though. So sometimes what I do is order a vanilla cupcake and an old fashioned birthday cupcake and switch frosting tops around.
