There are two big-named Brazilian steakhouses in Webster which I absolutely love, but I was equally impressed with Avenida. To me, they win the contest. We came to celebrate me and my brother's birthday and reserved a table for 13. We were greeted by the very friendly hostess and our table was awaiting us. She actually listened to us and answered every question with a big smile. Lovely person. They gave us a table in it's own secluded area with plenty of room. It was quiet and intimate enough to have conversations even across to my family seated furthest away from me. While we waited on a couple of people to arrive, the waiters got our drink orders and brought us out the famous cheese bread that Brazilian steakhouses are known for. You simply must try their cheese bread.

I first found this spot about two years ago. We had a milestone birthday celebration for our daughter. When it was all over, we loved this spot. We kept talking about it months. A year later, we celebrated my brother's 45th birthday here. Then, an anniversary. And the fourth visit was a 35th birthday part for my best friend. We kept coming back - over and over again. That should tell you something. We adore it.

After numerous visits, I can honestly say that the food is/was nothing short of delicious and plentiful. I have tried every meat and seafood offering they had. There was not a single one that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. My hubby and I made a reservation for our anniversary and they were so welcoming. During our visit, multiple people wished us a happy anniversary. We even received a complimentary dessert... which was equally excellent. The cappuccino (my personal favorite) was paired very nicely with the chocolate mousse cake. Splendid!

Not only is the dining experience unlike any other, the quality of food and the service are always top notch. First rate. The latter is what precipitated this particular review. While my Dad and I are used to the Gauchos (remembering what cuts of meat we like and how vastly differently we like them - medium rare for me, well done for him), this most recent visit went well above and beyond the usually excellent service we receive.

During a recent visit, a delightful lady named Jennifer sat us and took our drink orders. Throughout the course of the meal, she came by several more times to ensure that the specific cuts of meat that we wanted were provided and cooked to our preference. What set her apart from past servers, though, was not just the breadth of her knowledge but how incredibly generous she was with her time. She chatted, listened, commented and seemed genuinely interested in us. It was so refreshing. We had a few questions that we'd always wanted to ask (if someone writes down which table wants what cut of meat and at what level of doneness, why certain menu items were no longer offered, etc.) and Jennifer was more than happy to field all of our questions, no matter how specific or seemingly frivolous. She was so delightfully upbeat and seemed to know just about everything involved in the operation of the restaurant. Kudo's to Jennifer!

To say she helped turn a great meal into a spectacular one would be a grievous understatement. She is truly special and in turn she made US feel incredibly special and valued and appreciated. We may as well have been her only table for all the time and attention she paid to us.

Oftentimes in the world of service there is a fine line between being attentive and not giving the diners space to have their own conversations. Jennifer never felt intrusive at all and took such joy in sharing her knowledge of the restaurant and its inner workings. I truly hope when my Dad and I return to Avenida Brazil she will still be there so she can make our meal time another five-star experience.

They're always so nice and helpful. As soon as you flip your card over you'll be overwhelmed with the options provided. Don't see what you want coming out, ask and they'll bring some out for you. Every time I go it's a great experience. Give this spot a try the next time you're in Wester, Clearlake!

Five great things to know about Avenida:

  1. They will make someone's birthday special. They will gladly play a few Brazilian songs at request and give a complementary dessert to the birthday boy/girl.

  2. Remember that you are provided with a coaster. I'm repeating this because it is important. You flip the coaster green to obtain meat and red to stop the service. They provide many choices for meat. Consider trying a little of bit of everything.

  3. There’s also seafood such as shrimp, different kinds of fish and scallops. The salad bar is also second to none.

  4. There’s also a $5 valet available, if you need to use it.

  5. The Maitre De and servers offered a lot of advice, tasting combinations, and were quick to keep your water glass full, and sides at your table so this spot is great for a special/group celebration. They can handle big groups easily.
