I'm a maniac for meat - especially beef. Anyone who knows me, knows that I could eat steak or bbq just about every day of my life. Well, in Midland, Texas there's a fantastic spot that makes my dreams come true - and with two locations to consider: Beefmaster Steakhouse.

Before writing this blog, I visited this spot three times.

The first time was long ago when I went to the courthouse (which is near the restaurant) to sign over a property deed. My family came with me for the ride. Since I made a little money, I wanted celebrate. I saw this spot on the highway and said, 'why not?' We chose to sit in the back courtyard and was lots of space for our kids to run and enjoy the area while my wife and I drank a beer and chatted. We ordered steak fingers, a delicious salmon, smothered chicken, two steaks and then Butterfinger pie for dessert. The bill for all of the food was more than reasonable and no one left hungry. To go, we ordered the jalapeno poppers and they were gone that night at home. So good!! My wife and I commented on how the service was superior once we got seated and I we would return in a second.

The second time I visited this spot, I was alone. The server recommended the 'KC steak sirloin'. He said it came with 'steak grilled zucchini, salad and soup bar, and one side.' It was delicious and the portions were enormous; so large that I had have some steak left for a snack the next day while at work. Then, to-go, I ordered the Beefmaster's Burger. I ordered it in the hopes that I could enjoy it for dinner. It smelled so good that I ate it on the way home. The Beefmaster's Burger is a 1/2 lb homemade patty with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, jalapenos and mustard. It was perfectly seasoned; just how I like it - juicy, flavorful and with home cut french fries on the side.

The third and final time I dined here, I was celebrating my birthday. To 'ring in the new year of my life', I ordered the ribeye steak. It was, without a doubt, the best ribeye I ever had. We started with the fried mushrooms: light and crispy, fried cheese crispy and melty. Then, on order of fried onion rings: flavorful and lightly breaded with the perfect crisp exterior. My wife enjoyed the Jalapeño pork chops and she kept saying - "This is some of the best food I've ever eaten." Once again, the food was excellent, the service was timely and great, super-friendly staff. Best of all, that night be brought Alamo (our dog) and he was welcomed to relax on the patio with us. The waitress and staff came over to pet Alamo and even gave him some doggie treats. Our server, Jennifer, was great. She was very attentive making sure we had everything we needed. The all you can eat soup/salad bar was offered stand alone or as a side with your meal. It was fresh and well stocked. The soup tasted homemade. The food was delicious and the restaurant was spacious. There was also outside seating. We will definitely be back.

Bottom-line, everything is wonderful: the all you can eat soup/salad bar was offered stand alone or as a side with your meal; fresh and well stocked. The soup is clearly homemade. The menu is vast and the food is delicious. The restaurant is spacious with lots of additional outside seating. I will definitely be back when I'm in Midland, Texas.

Consider either location (Ballinger or Weatherford) for your convenience. You can't go wrong either way. Enjoy!
