A+ Homemade Ice Cream at La Fresa in Corpus Christi

Three blocks off of the Crosstown Expressway, you can enjoy amazing, homemade ice cream that will satisfy just about anyone with a sweet tooth - La Fresa.

This is just what you'd expect from a great, little local ice cream shop. Their main attraction (from my view) are the diversity of fun flavors that can probably suit anyone's ice cream craving.

I have visited this spot four times in the past few months and I always leave with a big smile. First of all, the service was excellent. Dealing with the Texas heat, a wonderful serving of cool, homemade ice cream is a welcomed treat for anyone. And here at La Fresa, you'll get just what you're looking for.

Secondly, this spot provides a wonderful selection of ice cream, paletas and aguas frescas. More than enough to choose from and...all are made in-house. Don't expect to sample or enjoy a commercial supermarket brand of ice cream, paletas or aguas. This is legit. Homemade and outstanding quality.

Third, you have the option of purchasing large quantities for your home and family. When I was there, I decided to purchase a 32-ounce container of their tasty treats to take home. Talk about making my family happy? Yes indeed.

And finally, the public dining area is wonderful. Reminds me of a quiet dessert shop that feels like home. The entire place was clean, cutely decorated and full of comfortable seating. During one visit, we dined on different ice cream selections while chatting with people at the adjoining table and the owners came out from behind the counter and chatted with us as well. It was fantastic!

We will definitely be coming back and you need to give it a try!
